There's much to do in San Felipe.
Being a seaside resort, watersports abound.
San Felipe first attracted interest across the border because
of the Sea of Cortez's rich harvest of fish and there are several fishing charter services available.
The Off-Road Races are very popular. Several
organized races are held in the San Felipe area yearly.
The Valley
of the Giants, a forest of giant cardon cacti, attract many
sight seers while further down the south highway the Puertecitos
hot springs is a popular day trip.
Swimming or kayaking
are pleasant pastimes. And there are the entertaining Banana
Boats always ready to take you on a bouncing ride
across the bay. Jet Skis can be rented on the beach if you want
to explore the bays and beaches. Remember for any water sports,
it is important to keep an eye on the tides.
There are several ATV rental outlets in town
if you want to pioneer the countryside. Or if you would like a
slower, more contemplative pace, horses
can be rented by the hour.
San Felipe has a wide variety of nightclubs
and restaurants. You can
find anything from Mexican, Italian and Chinese food to French
cuisine.
Dune buggy desert
tours are available and, at certain times of the year,
ultra-light
airplane rides can be obtained.
If you are in the mood for shopping and would
like something artistic, made by local craftspeople, try the town's
galleries. Or if you arer in town between october and June, check
out the Cachanilla
Swap Meet, where you can also find local crafts.
If you are the type who would like to keep
track of your stocks or do some on-line trading, internet access
and email is available at several local internet cafes.
Check Blueroadrunner's Calendar
of Events if you want to plan a stay around a particular event
or festival.
